Because of the Covid 19 restrictions, our last Student Outreach Program was in the fall of 2019 when world-class pianist Thomas Pandolfi performed for the elementary and middle school students of Veterans Park Academy for the Arts in Lehigh Acres.

Students clapped their hands, played “air piano” along with the artist, and asked questions of Pandolfi.  Nearly 700 students attended the morning middle school and afternoon elementary school programs.

The Board selected Mr. Pandolfi because of his outstanding record of working with students of all ages.  Highlights of the one-hour programs included his personal reflections on becoming a concert pianist and how this can relate to any of the students’ own individual goals.  Each presentation ended with a group picture of the students and the artist, after which he even signed autographs for the students!

While we have for years provided complimentary Upper Balcony seats for students to all of our concerts at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, we know it’s difficult, if not impossible for some students to attend.  That makes it all the more important for us to continue our outreach to the public schools with classical music programs such as this.  Your donations, beyond the cost of your membership tickets, help make this Student Outreach possible.  Lee County’s public school students thank you for providing them with these opportunities.
